Ashley Hogan M.A., BCBA, LBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has worked with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental delays since 2003. Ashley was first exposed to the field of applied behavior analysis at the University of Florida, (UF) as an undergraduate student. Ashley spent three years working in one of Dr. Brian Iwata’s research labs where she learned how to conduct a functional analysis and evaluate interventions to determine effective strategies for reducing challenging behavior. Ashley’s training and experience at UF inspired her to further her education. She earned her Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis in 2012 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and became a BCBA in January 2013.

Ashley spent her graduate career working at the Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI) in Baltimore, Maryland. Her first role was a senior behavior therapist in the Neurobehavioral Inpatient Unit (NBU) specializing in the assessment and treatment for severe problem behavior. Looking to expand her training, Ashley transitioned to the KKI elementary school, L.E.A.P. program where she worked as a behavior resource specialist.

Ashley was responsible for developing and monitoring behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for 4th and 5th grade students, as well as supervising and training classroom staff. Ashley’s experience in a classroom setting sparked an interest in staff training and led to her conducting a study that evaluated the effectiveness of behavioral skills training (BST) to improve staff’s implementation of BIPs with results being published in the Journal of Behavioral Education in 2014.

As a BCBA, Ashley has worked in both home and clinic environments. She has experience with developing and implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming for children and young adults with a wide variety of needs.
