We are located within 20 minutes to Schofield Barracks, Wheeler Army Air Field, NCTAMS (Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station (NCTAMS) Pacific), Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH).
Why military spouses? National security is traditionally measured by military strength, strategic deterrence and technological superiority. However a critical under-recognized component of national defense is the stability of the homefront. The ability of service members to remain mission-focused is directly linked to the strength of their support systems- mainly spouses who manage careers amidst frequent relocations. Homefront readiness is a framework that positions military families as a strategic asset in national security. Just as operational readiness ensures forces are equipped for mission success, homefront readiness ensures the total force has the stability, resources and opportunities to sustain it. A warfighter’s family and relationships directly impact their quality of life, mission focus, commitment to duty, and overall deployability (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, 2019). We want to support national security by providing Entry Level career opportunities for military spouses!

ABC Group has made the commitment to combat the 23% unemployment rate in the military spouse community (BSF, 2024). We see the value that veterans and military spouses bring to the workplace everyday. Their technical proficiency, education, leadership, knowledge, and attitudes bring strength to any organization. Our hope is that we can recruit some military spouses and veterans to share in service to others, an attribute that is a common denominator between ABC Group and the military connected community as a whole.
Entry level opportunities for spouses such as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) do not require education beyond high school and relatively condensed training to receive the RBT credential while on orders on Oahu, Hawaii, and then be able to take the portable RBT credential with them when they PCS to their next duty station.
No college is required, only a GED or High School diploma is required and at least 18 years of age!

What is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
RBTs are primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. Through personalized 1:1 sessions, RBTs empower their clients to communicate, have fun, share jokes, and learn essential life skills for independence. Our teaching methodology is rooted in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a blend of psychology and behavior science. The training provided by ABC group will unlock the opportunity for you to have a profound impact on these remarkable kids’ lives!
Now, picture yourself doing this:

- Teaching a child to use words, expressing their preferences for beloved toys or treats, like french fries or gummy bears.
- Guiding your client through a variety of games and activities such as Red Light Green Light, Connect Four, freeze tag, basketball, or “The Floor is Lava!”
- The satisfaction of helping your client identify and name their favorite construction vehicles, Disney princesses, or marine mammals.
- Consider the rewarding moments of teaching your client simple yet essential routines like washing their hands, tying their shoelaces, or making Kraft mac & cheese all on their own.
- Imagine the incredible ways you can enable them to connect with the world around them!
